Hyde Park Source 2012
September 12, 2012

During August I found time to volunteer for Hyde Park Source, a wonderful organisation that supports young people to do community work. During term time they generally support those who have been excluded from school, encouraging them to do something positive with their time such as learning to rebuild paths, maintain community gardens and build mosaics. However the group I was involved with were taking part in Summer of a Lifetime, a citizenship course of which the charity was only a small part. Together we helped repaint Millenium Square gardens, designed T shirts and crafted mosaics and much more. By the end of the week the gardens looked much tidier for the residents and the volunteers had all had fun, built up their confidence and had done something really worthwhile with their free time. The staff and volunteers all deserve a huge well done for all their hard work.
